Ibrahimovic: "Two important goals"

"This win keeps us on top. We have to continue like this"

PALERMO - Zlatan Ibrahimovic was the star of the show in Sicily, scoring both goals as Inter beat Palermo 2-0 to move clear at the top of the table.

"I'm very happy. We played well at a difficult ground like Palermo, and against a great team," he told Sky Sport Italia. "I scored two nice and important goals tonight. One was from a long-range shot, the other from a free kick."

Ibrahimovic's second goal against the Rosanero travelled at an astonishing 124kmh. "I had hit a few strong free kicks like the one tonight against Lecce and in Cyprus against Anorthosis. I'm doing specific work on this in training," he revealed.

The Swedish striker wrapped up title for Inter last season with his double against Parma at the Stadio Tardini. "These two goals tonight and this victory are very important, but the one in Parma last season won the Scudetto. This victory keeps us on top of the table, we have to continue like this."

Looking ahead to next weekend's big match against Juventus, Ibrahimovic commented: "It will be a hard game but if we want to win the championship we have to win that game as well. Juventus are only three points behind us. Anything can happen, the championship is still very long. Being on top doesn't count now, what counts is winning all the games to be on top at the end."
