Benitez: "We are a united team"

"We know what we are doing well and what we have to improve. We have the right mentality"

APPIANO GENTILE - Crisis? What crisis? "It you look at the league table I can't see where the crisis is." This was Rafael Benitez's first reply in today's pre-match press conference at the training ground.

Inter lost in Rome, but Benitez is adamant that Inter can react to their Olimpico defeat when they take on Werder Bremen in the Champions League tomorrow night.

"Werder Bremen are a strong team with mentality and experience, it will certainly be a difficult game," he said. "I don't know the Werder Bremen coach personally but I do know that he has experience and quality. Every team in the group drew their first match, so everyone wants to win now. There's more pressure than before. However, we have the belief that we can win."

There are question marks over the fitness of Diego Milito and Goran Pandev, who both suffered minor injuries against Roma. Will they be on the pitch to face Werder? "We will see tomorrow when we do another training session," said Benitez, who was also asked to comment on Cristian Chivu's outburst at the Olimpico.

"We sorted everything out in the changing room," replied the Inter boss. "He knows what we are doing well and what we have to improve on the pitch. It's not always easy to find the right balance with such an offensive team, but this is what we are working for. They say that Claudio Ranieri had more courage than me in his substitutions? Why? What did I do wrong? Substitute Pandev and Milito who were both injured? Considerations of this kind do not bother me.

"Nervousness? You are always looking for something, but we are Inter, a great team, a great club that everyone talks about, win or lose. But we have the right mentality and we are a united team."

Benitez explained: "The hardest thing is to score goals, the goal is small and the field is big for a defender, but you train to have more precision. Do we miss Balotelli? When we decide something we make an analysis. You never look back, you only look forward.

"Davide Santon? He is training very well, he's improving and I'm very happy."

Returning to the squad for tomorrow's clash is Brazilian midfielder Mancini. "He's an experienced player, it's important for him and us that he has a chance to play."

Benitez was asked if Eto'o is a problem for the team. "He's a solution, not a problem. He can make a difference," said Benitez. "Coutinho from the first minute tomorrow? "Maybe. He's a young player with quality, but he has shown that he can do well."
