MANAMA (BAHRAIN) - Inter president Massimo Moratti, accompanied by his daughter Carlotta, the club's managing director Ernesto Paolillo and ambassadors Luis Figo and Francesco Toldo, met the Crown Prince of Bahrain HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, the King's eldest son Sheikh HH Nasser bin Hamad Al-Khalifa (pictured), and His Majesty King Hamad bin Hamad Al-Khalifa at the Court of Ministers yesterday afternoon.
The King received the Inter delegation at the Safriya Palace, in the presence of the president of the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC), Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al-Khalifa and the deputy chairman of the Supreme Council for Sports and Youth, Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa. During the meeting, King Hamad wished Moratti a pleasant stay in Bahrain, stressing the importance of sport in strengthening ties between Bahrain and Italy and looking at the possibility of development and cooperation in other areas.
On his part, president Moratti expressed his happiness and gratitude to Sheikh Nasser for the invitation, underlining how the visit has been a wonderful opportunity for him and the entire delegation to meet with representatives from government officials and discuss with them the best methods of cooperation. His Majesty's Youth and Sports advisor Saleh Bin Isa bin Hindi, the chief executive of the Economic Development Board Sheikh Mohammed Bin Isa Al Khalifa and other representatives took part in the meeting.
Between one meeting and another, Massimo and Carlotta Moratti, Paolillo, Toldo and Figo visited Bahrain's Formula 1 circuit, where they had the chance to test out the track.
In the late afternoon, Francesco Toldo, Luis Figo took the four trophies won by Inter last season to the Bahrain City Center Mall, much to the delight of the many local fans in attendance.
