Zanetti: "I love this black-and-blue jersey"

"Thanks to the fans, who have always been fantastic. We want to carry on winning. The Scudetto is possible"

MILAN -  Fresh off the pitch after making his 519th appearance in Serie A and equalling Beppe Bergomi's record, Javier Zanetti spoke about the 4-1 win over Bologna, on a night in which the San Siro crowd gave him all the acclaim he deserves: "Today was a game that had to be won and we did that. I couldn't have asked for any more. Thanks to everyone, especially the fans, who have always been fantastic. I'm part of this huge family here; when I arrived I was a nobody; now we've been on this wonderful journey together and I want to end my career here. We have won a lot but we want to keep winning. We'll just keep plugging away and see where it gets us. The Scudetto? We'll give it our best shot. In football anything is possible. We'll go for it. We want to keep playing like this till the end."

"It was a truly emotional evening for me", Zanetti went on."It was incredible to feel the warmth of the whole Meazza as I left the pitch. I've shared lots of moments with the Nerazzurri crowd, including some difficult ones in the past, but now we're getting our due. And it's magnificent to be able to share it with everyone. We deserve everything."
