Leonardo: "No burden, just emotions"

inter.it brings you the first part of the coach's press conference the day before the Catania match

APPIANO GENTILE - "We are delighted - there's no point hiding it - because the team were superb against Napoli. They were enthusiastic, they dug in, they battled and they generally handled the game well, and against an in-form side. Now comes the hard part: keeping up those performances. And against Catania I want another great performance." Those were Leonardo's first words at the pre-match press conference the day before Catania v Inter, the Serie A Week 19 game to be played at the stadio Angelo Massimino in Catania at 15:00 tomorrow afternoon.

The first topic was the condition of the players, starting with Cristian Chivu and Samuel Eto'o: "Cristian is fine; I sent him in early because he slipped but it's nothing serious. Fortunately Eto'o's ban has finished now. I expect him to just be his usual self: the same Samuel Eto'o that everyone knows."

When asked how he intends to prepare the players for the heavy fixture list they have over the next few weeks, Leonardo replied: "The best way for a team to train is by playing, game after game. Just playing is the best way to prepare for more games."

"For me, football is about enjoying yourself; it's not a burden. There mustn't be any 'burdens' in football. You win some, you lose some, you look to improve, to develop, to change. But I don't feel any burden; I just enjoy the emotions," was the coach's reply when asked if he had taken a burden off his shoulders with the win against Napoli. He went on: "Now let's concentrate on the next step: the match we have tomorrow. It's a game that we have to win, and the opposition will be tough. Yes, Catania will be a tough game."
