MILAN - Fulvio Pea's Primavera side took on Triestina at the Centro Sportivo Giacinto Facchetti in Week 24 of the U-19 league this afternoon. The home side dominated proceedings and ran out comfortable 3-1 winners.
Andrea Romanò broke the deadlock after just 9 minutes, finishing from close range after Thiam had chested down from a corner. Jirasek then made it 2-0 just three minutes later when he fired a sweetly struck effort into the top corner, following a rapid move involving Romanò and Faraoni, who joins the Italy U-21 side tomorrow.
Such was the Nerazzurri's dominance that Triestina's first shot on goal didn't come until after the break: two minutes into the second half, a stunning strike from outside the area by Abea beat Bardi, and suddenly the visitors found themselves back in the game. Their hopes were short-lived, however, as five minutes later some trickery from Thiam led to a handball in the box, allowing Dell'Agnello to fire home his 24th goal of the season from the spot.
That effectively ended the game as a contest, though Inter continued to create chances and substitute Bessa was denied a goal by the woodwork.
Next Saturday the U-19s travel to Portogruaro.
