APPIANO GENTILE – On the eve of Inter v Lecce, the last match of 2011, Claudio
Ranieri was asked by reporters if he will field the same line-up that beat
Cesena: "Possibly, but I'll give an account tonight." Then the
reporters responded with 'But one year, before Christmas, Mourinho gave us his
formation.' Ranieri then smiled and replied, "But I'm the opposite of
Mourinho; if he did it then I can't do it!"
Talk turned to a player who will not be there tomorrow, but who Inter will have available again in the new year, Wesley Sneijder: "Sneijder is our flagship and I hope he recovers as soon as possible. With him we can make a significant improvement. We're doing good things, but with him Inter can grow even more."
From Sneijder to Nagatomo, who will be available for Lecce: "He's a very useful player who allows you to change the character of the team without making changes. You can use him in multiple positions."
The coach was then asked to give a summary: "We'll wait for tomorrow's match before taking stock of things. Now we're focused on Lecce."
