FOOTBALL SCHOOLS: ANDREOLLI, RANOCCHIA PRESENT NEW SEASON

The traditional gathering to present the start of the new season, held this afternoon at the San Siro

MILAN - The new season for Inter Football Schools was presented in the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza’s Executive Room at 17:30 this evening. In attendance were the more than 300 children who have been signed up for the 2013/14 season, their parents, all the instructors of the five Inter Football Schools and first-team players Marco Andreolli and Andrea Ranocchia.

From the stage of the Executive Room at the San Siro, Andreolli stated: "I’m really happy to be here because it gives us a chance to take a trip back in time. It’s true that in football you always have to think about the future, but sometimes it’s nice to remember the long road you took to become a pro. I understand the enthusiasm you all have. I’ve never forgotten it, and it’s the same way we feel ourselves when we lace up our boots. I wish you all luck and hopefully we’ll see each other here again next year."

Andrea Ranocchia also wanted to address the children in the audience, as well as their parents: "My message is not just for you kids, but also for your parents who are here this evening. I want to tell them that the most important things are having fun and studying, and only then can you become a footballer with the goal of making it professionally. Because learning and education are fundamental, and without them you won’t make it anywhere, in football or life in general. Therefore, first come studies and commitment, then fun. Children are our future, and I hope they truly enjoy themselves this season, as well as the parents and coaches. I hope to see you again here next year, and hopefully we’ll be celebrating a great season for Inter."

After their speeches the two Nerazzurri players were asked to draw names for the two children who would win their game shirts. Marco ended up winning Andreolli’s shirt, while Giulia claimed Ranocchia’s. The two defenders then posed for photos on stage with Marco and Giulia before signing their shirts.
