Torino 3-3 Inter

Inter down to 10 men early on as Handanovic was harshly dismissed; Guarin and Palacio (2) on the scoresheet

TURIN - It finished Torino 3-3 Inter at the Stadio Olimpico with the Nerazzurri playing with 10 men for most of the game, after Handanovic was harshly sent off. The goalkeeper was shown a straight red card for bringing down Cerci in the penalty area. Guarin and Palacio - with a brace - got Inter's goals. But let's start from the beginning.

Mazzarri picked a three-man defence - made up of Rolando, Ranocchia and Juan Jesus - ahead of Handanovic. Jonathan and Nagatomo played wide in a five-man midfield, with Guarin, Cambiasso and Taider in the middle. Kovacic started just behind the lone striker Palacio.

Torino made a good start, Cerci striking the post after just two minutes but the Nerazzurri gave themselves an uphill battle in the fifth minute as Handanovic got himself sent off: Cerci was first to meet Farnerud's cross from the left and the Granata forward took the contact from the Nerazzurri keeper, who was shown a straight red card. Inter were down to 10 men and Kovacic was the man sacrificed as Carrizo came on for the visitors. The Argentine made an instant impression, plunging to his right to beat away Cerci's spot-kick, before denying D'Ambrosio a few minutes later.

The Nerazzurri tried to respond with Guarin heavily involved but it was the hosts who took the lead on 21 minutes: Farnerud collected the ball unchallenged in the box and hit a first-time angled finish into the far corner with his left foot. Inter though got themselves level through a brilliant Guarin goal on the stroke of half time: the Colombian showed wonderful technique as he found the back of the net with a bicycle kick.

Torino had the first chance of the second period through Immobile - on moments earlier - but he couldn't find the target. Despite failing with his first effort, he made no mistake with his second, on 53 minutes: he picked up the ball just inside the Inter box and found the corner with a neat finish. Palacio put Inter back on terms less than two minutes later however: Taider whipped it in for Guarin, once again Padelli came and was left clutching thin air, and Palacio was on hand to head into an empty net.

The Argentine had his second after 71 minutes, as he tapped in following excellent work from Belfodil down the right-hand side. Torino though equalised at the death: Bellomo took a free-kick from out wide and the ball dipped into the far top corner. It finished Torino 3-3 Inter with several decisions going against the Nerazzurri.
