The Nerazzurri’s new summer signing recently answered Inter fans’ questions live on Facebook and our Portuguese Twitter account

APPIANO GENTILE - New Nerazzurri signing Henrique Dalbert was today presented to Nerazzurri supporters, as he answered questions not only live on our official Facebook page, but also on our Portuguese Twitter account and the Inter Channel.

“I like everything about Inter. I am adjusting slowly but surely and I’m feeling good. All of my teammates that speak Portuguese are helping a lot in including me both on and off the field. I’ve fought hard to play for a club like Inter and I never thought I would have done so so quickly. I couldn’t believe it when they made contact and I was truly honoured by Inter’s interest. I came to visit Milan in October and it was my first time in Italy, however I could never have imagined that in just a few months I would sign for Inter.”

On the flanks, Inter have previously enjoyed a number of impressive Brazilian full-backs: “Maicon made history both here and also with the Brazilian national team. Roberto Carlos was my idol and he is a player that I still have in my heart. I want to try and emulate them, hoping to also remain in the hearts of all Nerazzurri supporters.”

The impact of Italian football and his new surroundings have evidently left a positive impression on Dalbert so far: “Lots of fans have written to me on social media and this has made me very happy. I still surprised and impressed by the way in which everything works here, particularly in regard to the intensity of training. I love how you are completely immersed in football on a daily basis. I’ve arrived here largely thanks to my offensive abilities. I’ve improved the defensive side of my game, although I am a player that likes to push forwards. I chose Inter and Italy because I want to keep improving defensively.”

As for the San Siro support, Dalbert has already been struck by their passion: “The fans are very important for the squad. On Sunday evening at the San Siro I witnessed great energy and positivity. It is a truly impressive stadium and even Joao Mario told me that you simply can’t get better than this. I can’t wait to play in the Derby against Milan. In Brazil we say that you don’t just play in a Derby, but you win it.”

In regard to his personal and footballing development, Dalbert has stressed that his family do play a fundamental role in his life: “My family is very important for me. I am here today thanks to them, especially my grandma who fought for me on a daily basis. We experienced a lot of difficulties in Brazil, but together we have overcame all of them. It wasn’t easy to come to Europe and I initially struggled significantly. However, I learnt a lot and began to get used it after a while.”

Finally, the 23-year-old also revealed some details about his private life: “I like to spend my free time with family and friends. I like to take walks and explore the city, aiming to always have an agreeable environment around me. I also really enjoy basketball and American football. I am not an expert, but as a whole I like watching all sports. I also listen to a lot of Samba, it helps me relax and focus before a match.”
