Icardi: "I couldn't wait to get back to working with the group"

San Benedetto del Tronto - Mauro Icardi was finally back. The Nerazzurri captain made his debut for the season in the final minutes of the match with Villarreal and he had enough time to provide an assist for Marcelo Brozovic. "I couldn't wait to be back in the group working with my teammates, in these weeks I've worked well seperately but it's clearly not the same thing. Now, my aim is to be ready for the first game of the season against Fiorentina. I've found an Inter who are playing well, we're putting in excellent performances during these friendlies and the team is following Spalletti's instructions." 

Icardi carried on to speak about the new coach. "The boss is very good, he's come here with great desire, he has clear ideas and knows how to transmit them. In training, we're trying what is asked of us. There aren't many requests but they're very precise and we can get excellent results by applying them on the pitch."
