Stefano Vecchi's Under-19s triumphed 3-1 away at Hellas Verona on matchday 23

VERONA - It was a good away win for Stefano Vecchi’s Primavera as they triumphed at the Antistadio Guido Tavellini, beating Hellas Verona 3-1. The Nerazzurri enjoyed an excellent first half with Odgaard breaking the deadlock before Bettella doubled the lead. In the second half, Galazzini halved the deficit for Verona before Rover restored the two-goal lead. The win sees Inter claim three very important points in the race for top spot.

Inter started very strongly and Odgaard missed a chance in the fourth minute when his shot went wide. Hellas responded with Saveljevs and Fiumicetti who went close to scoring soon after. In the 12th minute, Vecchi’s side took the lead through Odgaard. The young Dane received the ball from Sala and picked out the corner when the ball was dipping to beat Borghetto. The Nerazzurri doubled the lead on 32 minutes with Bettella heading home from Pompetti’s free kick out on the right. Before the end of the half, Inter had three chances to deliver the knockout blow through Odgaard, Zaniolo and Merola but the home goalkeeper Borghetto kept his team in it.

In the second half, the hosts found the net on 58 minutes when Galazzini finished from a corner kick. Inter struggled to hit the heights of the first half and Verona looked to take advantage with Romulo just missing the target with a header when he had the chance to equalise. In the final 16 minutes, the Nerazzurri started to control the ball again and Matteo Rover killed the contest. The Under-19 forward received a cutting pass from Zaniolo and beat Borghetto with a sidefoot finish. In stoppage time, Zaniolo had a chance to make it four but missed the target from eleven metres out. Inter won 3-1 to go top level with Atalanta.
