The Belgian midfielder was today presented to the press: "I'm pleased to be back working with Spalletti"

MILAN - New Inter signing, RadjaNainggolan, was today presented to the press at the Palazzo Parigi, as he answered questions on his recent transfer: “I want to thank all the Inter directors, including the Zhang family. I am happy to be here and I can’t wait to get going.

“I hope to win trophies here at Inter and this transfer represents an important step in my career. I am pleased to be at the club and I hope to strengthen the team. I think that we can do well and everyone here has the same goals in mind. A player must always feel important and the decision to come here was based particularly on this. I felt the club’s faith in me and I hope to repay this out on the pitch.”

This latest move will also see the Ninja link up once again with Luciano Spalletti: “I’m really happy to be back working with him. I already know the way how he works, and from a tactical point of view, he knows how to get the best out of me. I have played in many roles across the midfield, but for me, it is important to give my all for the team. I am at the coach’s complete disposal but it was also the entire Nerazzurri hierarchy who convinced me to come here.”

As for his new teammates, Nainggolan said: “There are many top players here at Inter. Icardi scores a lot and Perisic can always make the difference, while there are also many others. I’ve already spoken to Mauro. I told him that I was ready and he said exactly the same.

“There has been contact with Inter in the past but now I felt that it was the right time. Juventus have been winning for many years. Consistency will be important to compete on all fronts.”

Nainggolan has chosen the No.14 ahead of next season: “It is an important number. I always liked No.4 but it wasn’t available here, so I chose the first possible number that had the No.4 in it.”

Lastly, the midfielder was asked about his personal life: “Every morning I take my daughter to school, then I train before relaxing in the afternoon. I like to enjoy my free time.”

#WelcomeNinja and best of luck for this new adventure!
