Many missed chances led to Armando Madonna's side's downfall on Saturday, with Napoli's U19s coming out on top thanks to goals from Sgarbi and Gaetano

MILAN - Inter’s streak of three successive wins ended on matchday 10 in Primavera 1 TIM on Saturday, as they lost 2-0 at home to Napoli. It was a frustrating afternoon for the Nerazzurri, who hit the woodwork an incredible three times, while goals from Sgarbi and Gaetano ultimately sealed it for the visitors.

The opening 10 minutes were fairly even, with both teams keeping the ball well but failing to really threaten. The Nerazzurri’s first real chance came through link-up between Zappa and Merola, with the Inter No.10 forcing a good save from Idasiak. However, Napoli took the lead not long after, with Sgarbi getting the better of the Inter defence and beating Dekic with a right-footed strike in the 27th minute. Inter tried to respond through Merola, although he was kept out by the post twice in just a few seconds. The woodwork was then called into action once again in the 43rd minute, this time halting a shot from Mulattieri. Despite sustained Inter pressure, the half-time whistle was soon blown with Napoli leading 1-0.

Inter were straight on the attack after the interval, although Idasiak was on hand yet again to keep out Merola. With the Napoli defence holding out, their attack then doubled their lead in the 65th minute through Gaetano. The away side missed a great chance to score a third late on, while Inter kept pressing right until the very end. Demirovic went close to grabbing a goal that could’ve gave the home team hope, however, it wasn’t to be and Napoli left the Stadio Breda with all three points.
