Armando Madonna's side immediately get back to winning ways as goals from Esposito and Salcedo secure an away success

VINOVO –Armando Madonna’s Primavera side got back to winning ways as they defeated Juventus to consolidate their position in the play-offs. The Nerazzurri now have their eyes firmly set on the very top positions in the table.

The Nerazzurri’s Under-19 side began the match well: in the 5th minute, Pompetti found Esposito deep in Juventus’s half, but Inter’s number 11 fired over. The Nerazzurri then took the lead after 13 minutes: Esposito’s free kick beat Loria in the Bianconeri’s goal following a deflection. Both sides then had chances just after the 20-minute mark, but Markovic couldn’t quite connect with the ball for Juventus and Gavioli was denied by Loria. After 30 minutes, Sene levelled the match: the Nerazzurri switched off at the back, with Juventus’s number eight taking full advantage and beating Dekic with his right foot. Seven minutes later, Dekic stayed alert to deny Sene. As the first half drew to a close, Burgio headed just off target, while Juventus threatened through Capellini and Markovic. Madonna’s side survived, however.

Inter’s approach in the second half was also excellent. Pompetti had their first chance following the break, but he was unable to strike the ball properly from a good position. Following this, Loria was on hand to stop Salcedo from scoring. However, just after the hour-mark, Salcedo did find the back of the net with a splendid header from Pompetti’s corner. In the 76th minute, Petrelli was unable to score from close range as Juventus looked to find the equaliser. Just minutes later, Thomas Schirò looked to score a screamer, but his left-footed strike just went wide of the post. In the 84th minute, Oliveira’s header for the Bianoneri was just centimetres away from ending in the back of the net. Adorante then picked up an unfortunate injury and had to leave the pitch despite after only having been on for a matter of minutes.

In stoppage time, Inter had an opportunity to finish off the match once and for all, but Persyn’s ball for Mulattieri on the counter was just too long and the chance went begging. Juventus were then reduced to ten men after Bandeira was sent off, and the Nerazzurri dealt with their attacks as the match came to a close to bring home three very important points.
