APPIANO GENTILE - After his singing was made official, Cristiano Biraghi spoke at the start of his second spell with the Nerazzurri. The left-back has arrived from Fiorentina and he discussed how he felt after rejoining Inter who he made his debut for in the 2010-11 Champions League. “I think that I’ve come back to Inter at the right time, I’ve matured both in and outside of football,” he said. “I believe that I’ve reached the required level to make myself of use for this great team. Now, I need to show that I can stay but I’m ready to do so.”
Inter were in Biraghi’s destiny as he grew up an Interista and came through at our Elite Academy before making his First Team debut. “I come from a family of Nerazzurri fans, they passed this passion on to me . Since I was small, my dream was to play in an Inter shirt. I managed it, first with the youth teams and then with my debut nine years ago. But at that time, I was a boy called up from the Primavera side, I wasn’t ready to play at that level. I’ve gained a lot of experience, I’ve improved and now I’m back.”
Since returning, Inter have made an immediate positive impression on the defender: “I’ve found a serious environment with truly big goals. Everyone is working to bring Inter back to where the Club belongs. I’ve seen a Club and group that wants to win trophies.”
Biraghi has now trained with the side for the first time: "I’ll look to immediately fit in with the mechanisms of the side. I saw the Lecce match and the intensity of the play. When you work well and with intensity, it shows on the pitch.
“The new players are internationals, they’ve done well in different leagues and international football. They can raise the standard of the team. When the quality goes up, the standard increases in training as a result and then everything becomes easier on Sundays.”
