Right to play and right to education: the Inter Campus objectives around the world

In 1965, UNESCO established an International Literacy Day in order to remind everyone of the importance of literacy – a crucial pillar in the building of a more sustainable future for all. Since then, International Literacy Day has been celebrated every year on September 08. After all, it is not by coincidence that the fourth goal of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development – an agenda adopted by the UN General Assembly – is "Quality Education". The fourth goal aims to "ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all.”

The theme of the day this year is "literacy and multilingualism", underlining the importance of "embracing linguistic diversity in education and literacy development" around the world.

International Literacy Day, occurring as it does at the start of September, coincides with Italian children returning to school. This is always a special moment and brings with it the opportunity of a new beginning, of new adventures with friends, of playing and of learning. This is a goal shared with Inter campus, who work every single day to ensure that children around the world have access to and can enjoy a quality education.
