Hellas struck an equaliser in the last minute of the league opener to peg the Nerazzurre back

OLBIATE ARNO – Inter Women’s adventure in Serie A began with a draw today, a result which was a tough one to take. It was a competitive match right until the very end: Hellas took the lead through Glionna before the Nerazzurre turned the game around through goals from Debever and Merlo. In the last minute, however, Inter were pegged back as Glionna dealt a big blow.

Inter started strongly in Solbiate Arno, creating various chances through Tarenzi and Marinelli before Van Kerkhoven just failed to hit the opener seven minutes in. Despite the early pressure from Attilio Sorbi’s side, Hellas Verona went ahead nine minutes win through Benedetta Glionna. Inter kept going and Van Kerkhoven went close with a header ini the 36th minute.

Inter kept the tempo up early in the second half and Debever headed home in the 51st minute to equalise. Inter kept attacking and posed a threat from set pieces. In the 75th minute, Beatrice Merlo fired Inter ahead with a powerful shot from outside the box. Soon after, the opponents looked to draw level through Baldi but Marchitelli was ready to save. The hosts had a chance to hit a third six minutes from time but Marinelli couldn’t finish after going clean through. In the 93rd minute, Glionna punished Inter with a powerful strike from outside the box to make it 2-2.
