After having received recognition by the FIGC in June, the Nerazzurri Youth Sector has been given an award from UEFA for its Football Schools, Inter Grassroots Program and Training Centres

MILAN - Another notable achievement for Inter’s Youth Sector as they received the "Silver Prize - Best Professional Club" from UEFA at the Grassroots Awards 2019. Inter’s Football Schools, the Inter Grassroots Program and their Training Centres have once again been recognised for their excellence after the recent award received in June from the FIGC.

The award-winning Nerazzurri projects were the following: the Football Schools, created in 2003 to promote the game of football among younger age groups; the Inter Grassroots Program, conceived over 20 years ago through affiliation projects and developed across the country with technical objectives; and their natural evolution, the Inter Training Centres, of which there are now 15 in Italy.

Here is the statement from UEFA as they presented the Nerazzurri club with the award:

"UEFA's Executive Committee has chosen to award FC Internazionale Milano a prize for the category of "Best Professional Club". This prize is awarded to clubs that, in addition to their professional activity, engage in lots of other specific social initiatives in order to demonstrate the club's commitment to local communities and grassroots activity. The Executive Committee felt that Inter deserved to win this award.”

Roberto Samaden, head of the Inter Youth Sector, was extremely pleased with the achievement of this goal:

"After the award received from the FIGC in recent months, our nomination and recognition by UEFA is a further source of pride for the Club, its Youth Sector and all of the people who have contributed to the design, development and management of these projects. For us, receiving the award ten years after the creation of the Training Centres has a special significance. Furthermore, this is a great incentive to continue the work that we do day in day out for the growth and development of our children with ever-increasing commitment.”
