All the facts before the big match against the Bianconeri

MILAN –  On Sunday 6th October, Inter and Juventus will meet for the 173rd time in Serie A. There have been 86 prior matches at the Meazza with the Nerazzurri winning 35 and scoring 134 goals.

It’s always a hard-fought fixture and the Derby d’Italia has been a high-scoring affair in recent years. In the past three league matches between Inter and Juventus in Milan, both sides have scored in each match with an average of 3.3 goals per match. 12 of the last 15 goals have come in the second half of matches.

Inter are ready to take on Sarri’s side from the top of the table after winning the last six league games in a row, with a record of five home wins from the last five home Serie A matches with just one goal conceded.

The Nerazzurri are the only side to have never trailed this season and the team who have been in the lead for the longest period of time (334 minutes). Inter are also the only side not to have let a goal in during the first half of matches so far.

In terms of goals scored, no side has had more goalscorers this season than Inter (eight) and no team has scored more from headers (eight). With assists, there are two apiece for Stefano Sensi and Nicolò Barella. The three players who have made the most passes this season come from Inter and Juventus with the Nerazzurri pair of Marcelo Brozovic and Milan Skriniar along with Miralem Pjanic.

One appearance away from 450 in Serie A, Inter goalkeeper Samir Handanovic has the best save percentage this season with 87%.

Out of the players who previously were on the other side, Antonio Candreva, Asamoah and Antonio Conte have never come up against current Bianconeri boss Maurizio Sarri.
