Together with Opta, the stats ahead of the 12:30 CEST kick-off on Sunday

In collaboration with Opta, here are the key statistics and bits of trivia ahead of the 12:30 CEST kick-off on Sunday at the Mapei Stadium.

Inter have won three out of three away games this season. Only four times previously have the Nerazzurri won the first four away matches in a Serie A season (1966/67, 1997/98, 2002/03, 2012/13).

The Nerazzurri have won seven of nine league games following the international break. The two exceptions are the 0-1 against Parma in September 2019 and the 0-1 against Lazio in March 2019.

Sassuolo have won just one of the last eleven Serie A matches following international breaks (3 draws, 9 defeats). The one win was a 2-1 against Benevento in November 2017.

Sassuolo (57%) and Inter (51%) are two of the top three sides for shooting accuracy this season. Lazio (56%) are the other.

Four out of the twelve goals conceded by Sassuolo this season have come from crosses. No side has let in more by this method.

Inter are the side who have conceded the fewest goals (one) in the first halves of games this Serie A season and no side has let more in than Sassuolo (nine) in the first halves.

Sassuolo have scored 91% of their goals (10 out of 11) from open play, the most in Serie A this season.

No side has scored more goals through new signings than Inter (seven, level with Fiorentina) in the current Serie A campaign.

Antonio Conte’s side have been in the lead for 334 minutes this Serie A season, more than any other side. Inter are one of three sides including Cagliari and Roma who are yet to trail in an away game this season.

PLAYER FOCUS

The first Serie A goal scored by Antonio Candreva away from the Meazza came at the Mapei Stadium in December 2016 against Sassuolo. He’s the only current player to have scored for the Nerazzurri against the Neroverdi in the competition.

Matteo Politano played 96 times for Sassuolo in Serie A between 2015 and 2018, scoring 20 goals.

Stefano Sensi played 61 times for Sassuolo in Serie A (scoring five). 28 of his appearances came under Roberto De Zerbi.

Marcelo Brozovic has completed the most passes (524) and touched the ball the most (695) in the league this season.

Brozovic and Skriniar are the two outfield Inter players who have played all 630 minutes this season.

Lautaro Martínez is the youngest player to have scored at least eight goals since the start of the 2018/19 Serie A season.

Romelu Lukaku has scored three goals this season from just five shots on goal. Two of his goals have come on the road.
