Our number 37 and 17-year-old striker were key players in both of their sides’ victories

MILAN - Two Nerazzurri were in action for their respective national sides yesterday. Milan Skriniar was at the heart of Slovakia’s clean sheet in their 2-0 win over Azerbaijan as the Inter defender played the full 90 minutes. The win was however not enough to secure Euro 2020 qualification for the side coached by Pavel Hapal.

Sebastiano Esposito also came away with a win, selected to start after having contributed to the U19s’ qualification for the Elite Phase of the U19 Euros. He was joined by Primavera teammates Ntube and Colombini in the third match of Group 6 as Alberto Bollini’s Italy consolidated top spot with a 3-0 win over Slovakia. Our 17-year-old striker played the full 90, providing both of the assists for the Azzurri’s first two goals.

Marcelo Brozovic, Stefan de Vrij, Romelu Lukaku and Valentino Lazaro were all rested for their nations’ final matches in qualifying.
