The Nerazzurri Club, represented by Javier Zanetti, received a special award together with AC Milan for their promotion of social inclusion for the blind

MILAN – Inter and AC Milan received special awards on Sunday 14 December at the Institute for the Blind in Milan for having promoted social inclusion for the blind through their initiative “San Siro for all”.

Present at the ceremony were the Nerazzurri Vice President Javier Zanetti and AC Milan CEO Ivan Gazidis. On the 61st National Day of the Blind, the Italian Union for the Blind and Visually Impaired (UICI) and the Institute for the Blind in Milan Foundation presented a plaque of gratitude to the two clubs for their collaborative project they started in May: “San Siro for all” has the aim of bringing people with visual disabilities to the stadium in the heart of Milan and allowing them to follow the match thanks to an audio description service they can listen to through earphones.

The project was carried out in line with advice from the Institute for the Blind and the UICI, who collaborated in training the match narrators who describe the events of the game for those who cannot see it.  The initiative has already thrilled dozens of visually impaired fans and will continue throughout the rest of the season.
