On Saturday 13 June at 21:00 CEST, the Nerazzurri will be tasked with the Coppa Italia semi-final second leg at the San Paolo

MILAN – The Coppa Italia semi-final second leg against Napoli will be the game that restarts Inter’s season. Antonio Conte’s Nerazzurri will take to the pitch on Saturday 13 June at 21:00 CEST at the San Paolo with the aim of overturning Napoli’s win at San Siro in the first leg that was sealed by Fabian Ruiz.

THE NERAZZURRI’S COPPA ITALIA JOURNEY

Inter started their 2019/20 Coppa Italia run with a win against Cagliari in the round of 16 thanks to Lukaku’s brace and goals from Ranocchia and Borja Valero. Their quarter-final opponents, Fiorentina, succumbed to Candreva’s strike and Barella’s wonder goal. While their two-legged semi-final clash began with Napoli’s win at San Siro thanks to Fabian Ruiz’s goal.

THE RULES

Lega Serie A has announced some updates and changes to the rules, so there will be no extra time in the semi-finals nor final: if the scores are level after two legs, there will be no extra time and it will go straight to penalties. Furthermore, the FIGC have announced that teams will have the option to make five substitutions during the match (an exception that is valid for all matches across all competitions until the end of the 2019/20 season).

GATTUSO’S NAPOLI

Napoli have won all of their last three Coppa Italia matches without conceding, which means they are the team with the most clean sheets (three). The Neapolitans have not achieved four consecutive wins in the competition since 2005, and in that case they also didn’t concede any goals. Their Coppa Italia journey began with a win against Perugia thanks to Insigne’s double, he also scored in their 1-0 win over Lazio in the quarter-final.

THE TABLE

On the other side of the draw, Juventus and AC Milan will face off on Friday 12 June at 21:00 CEST at the Allianz Stadium following their 1-1 draw in the semi-final first leg. The final has been scheduled for Wednesday 17 June 2020.

THE REFEREE

Gianluca Rocchi will take charge of the match. The referee from Florence will have Del Giovane and Cecconi as his assistants. The fourth official will be Mariani, while Valeri and Giallatini will be VAR and Assistant VAR.
