The Nerazzurri take to the pitch at San Siro at 19:30 CEST tonight for matchday 27 in Serie A

MILAN – Repeating themselves at San Siro, this is Inter’s goal as they prepare to host Roberto De Zerbi’s Sassuolo three days after their win against Sampdoria. The game is scheduled for 19:30 CEST tonight at San Siro on matchday 27 of Serie A, and while we can’t welcome our fans to the stadium, the Nerazzurri faithful will be there virtually with another way to take part in tonight’s match.

THE NUMBERS

After the home win over Sampdoria, thanks to goals from Lukaku and Lautaro Martínez, the Nerazzurri will arrive at Wednesday’s game with 57 points thanks to 17 wins, six draws and three defeats. The Belgian and Argentine are also the men who decided the first fixture against Sassuolo, both scoring their first braces in Serie A; now the two have scored in the same match on six occasions. Wednesday’s match will be the 14th encounter between these two teams.

FACTS

Among the facts related to the history of this encounter is Diego Milito’s goal on 22 September 2013 which came after 63 passes, the longest build-up for a goal in Serie A over the last 15 seasons. In that match, ‘El Principe’ returned to the pitch after a long injury and scored a brace, including the last of his 75 goals for Inter.

THE OPPONENT

Sassuolo have earned 32 points so far this season, coming from nine wins, five draws and twelve defeats, scoring 42 goals and conceding 43. Last season they had one point less (31) after 26 games, and only once have the Neroverdi had more points at this stage of a Serie A season (38 in 2015/16). Roberto De Zerbi will be without Marlon, who picked up a suspension in Wednesday’s match. Eight of the Neroverdi’s last ten goals have come from the Caputo-Boga duo.
