Quotes from the Assistant Coach on the eve of Inter's match against Parma

APPIANO GENTILE – Another league clash awaits for Inter, who have an away trip to Parma coming up tomorrow. Cristian Stellini will be in the dugout at the Tardini, with Coach Antonio Conte suspended for the showdown. Here’s what Inter’s Assistant Coach had to say before tomorrow’s game: “An important match awaits because we’re coming into it on the back of a frustrating draw. We’ve analysed the Sassuolo game and the experience will be useful in tomorrow’s match. Remaining calm and composed in front of goal will be important as we look to pick up a victory.

“In the reverse fixture, we complicated matters, especially in the first half. Then we got it together, played well and showed intensity. However, we only got a draw from the game. Parma are a difficult side to face for anyone in Serie A. We’ll need to be on our game and put in a good display, making the most of the opportunities that come our way. We’ll also need to be adaptable in the way we interpret different moments, something we didn’t quite get right in our last match.

“Following lockdown, we’re all experiencing something new which can’t be compared to anything that has happened before,” he added. “There are many unknowns and eleven matches still to go before the end of the season. Therefore, it’ll be important to manage our energy well, both from a physical and especially mental point of view.”

Stellini also spoke about Inter’s injury problems in midfield: “We hope to have more players available than we had against Sassuolo. We’ll make some final assessments with the medical staff and the Coach. We’re working on this but will have to wait to be certain in this regard. Whatever happens, we’ll have maximum confidence in those who take to the pitch.”

Finally, the Assistant Coach commented on Eriksen’s development: “We’re more than satisfied with what Christian is doing and we expect continuous progress and improvement from him. We’re sure that this will be the case.”
