Honours even at the Suning Youth Development Centre, with Fonseca grabbing the Nerazzurri's goal

MILAN – Inter’s Primavera side played out a draw at the Suning Youth Development Centre on their return to league action today: despite the Nerazzurri taking the lead through Fonseca, Sottini’s unfortunate own goal ensured that Torino came away with a share of the spoils. Armando Madonna’s side will next take to the pitch at the Stadio Breda on Thursday, when they’ll play their rearranged matchday four clash against Genoa.

Inter started the match strongly, with Bonfanti drawing a fine stop from Sava. However, the Nerazzurri didn’t have to wait much longer to score the opener: following Oristanio’s inch-perfect cross, Fonseca volleyed home on the seven-minute mark. As the minutes ticked by, Torino grew into the game and Madonna’s men started to drop deeper. In the 37th minute, Karamoko let fly and Sottini unluckily diverted the ball into his own net. The teams thus headed into the break with the score locked at 1-1.

After the restart, Inter tried to take the game to their opponents but never really threatened. The Granata, meanwhile, were defending diligently and looking to hit the Nerazzurri on the counter. Despite some late pressure on the Torino goal, Madonna’s men weren’t able to find a winner: it finished 1-1.
