A great performance from the Argentine, who netted a fantastic brace in Inter's 3-0 victory over AC Milan

MILAN – Aggressive, ferocious, ruthless. Lautaro Martinez’s unleased energy in the Derby dazzled us all: San Siro was his stage, the Rossoneri were forced to chase him, but they weren't able to stop him. It wasn't so much difficult as impossible. Confident from the very start, Lautaro opened the scoring with a header. Then, he made 2-0 to suppress AC Milan’s attempt at a comeback. The Argentine has been involved in 17 goals in the league so far (13 goals, four assists) and has thus already equalled his tally from last season in this respect.

In his post-match interview, the Argentine spoke to DAZN and Inter TV about how he felt: “We’re united, we’re a team that works together every day to give our very best and take Inter as high as possible. And we’ve shown that today. We're going to carry on following this path. We all fight together, this is evident on the pitch.”

“We’ve suffered setbacks this season after being knocked out of the Champions League and the Coppa Italia. This is our only goal now and we are happy to be at the top of the league. We need to carry on in the same vein.”

“Lukaku? He works so much to make sure he can help the team. He is a great person and a great player, we're happy to have him with us. And I’m convinced that he still has the potential to improve a lot. We're also pleased with Handanovic, whenever you need him he will always be there. Today, we all played really well: we made it difficult for them, finding space and moving the ball well. We're happy, this was the job that we'd prepared to do: we looked for the spaces and the gaps where we knew we could do damage.”

“My daughter has been born during a unique period, I’m doing well psychologically, everything's going well with my family: she's the most important thing for me and I give my all for them. Every time I leave home to play football, I say to my girlfriend and my daughter: I’m going to run for you.”
