The Nerazzurri's Primavera side lose in Turin

TURIN – Inter fell to a 3-1 defeat against Torino in the Primavera 1 TIM division today. After Lovaglio had given the Granata the lead, Casadei’s great free kick levelled matters. In the second half, goals from Cancello and Larotonda sealed the win for the hosts.

The Nerazzurri began strongly and almost took the lead after 60 seconds following great play down the right by Casadei, but it was the home side who broke the deadlock. Indeed, in the eighth minute, Lovaglio let fly with a left-footed strike from outside the box that kissed the inside of the post on its way in, giving Torino a 1-0 lead.

Inter immediately looked to take back control of proceedings but initially struggled to trouble the opposition defence. Sottini had a go from distance, but his effort didn’t find the net. With 30 minutes on the clock, Armando Madonna’s side had two chances to draw level, first through Fonseca’s header from Zanotti’s cross and then through Casadei’s right-footed shot that came off Ferigra. Both attempts, however, finished off target.

The equaliser came after 36 minutes: Fonseca was brought down by Todisco at the edge of the area, and Casadei spectacularly dispatched the resulting free kick with his right foot. Torino had the final opportunity of the opening period, with Savini coming close after striking the ball on the bounce.

The Nerazzurri started the second half in positive fashion and almost took the lead through Casadei, but it was the hosts who gained the upper hand thanks to Cancello’s goal with 73 minutes on the clock. Inter’s U19s were unable to respond and conceded another in the closing minutes, with Larotonda tapping home after Stankovic had saved Continella’s penalty. It finished 3-1 to the Granata in Turin.
