Inter certainly had a big part to play in the way the drama unfolded in the Euro 2020 quarter-final clash between Italy and Belgium at the Allianz Arena in Munich on Friday evening.
Nicolo Barella opened the scoring with a superb goal in the 31st minute after some nifty work to set the Azzurri on their way. The midfielder’s right-footed strike was far too powerful for Thibaut Courtois in the Belgium goal.
Lorenzo Insigne doubled Italy’s lead a few minutes later, before Romelu Lukaku scored what proved to be the final goal of the game from the penalty spot in first-half stoppage time. Both Inter players ended up playing the entirety of the clash.
Next up for Roberto Mancini’s charges is a semi-final clash with Spain at 21:00 CEST on Tuesday 6 July at Wembley.
