Lautaro Martinez and Matias Vecino were both involved in Copa America quarter-final action on Saturday night.
Martinez’s Argentina secured their place in the semi-finals of the competition with a 3-0 win over Ecuador in Goiania. Rodrigo De Paul opened the scoring five minutes before half time, while Martinez added a second on 84 minutes before Lionel Messi wrapped up the win in stoppage time. Martinez was brought off for Sergio Aguero deep into added time.
Argentina’s opponents in the semi-finals on Wednesday will be Colombia, who triumphed over Uruguay in a penalty shoot-out in Brasilia. Inter’s Matias Vecino played the full match for Uruguay, who fell at the final hurdle after neither side could break the deadlock during the first 120 minutes.
