MILAN – Following the midweek clash in the Champions League, Inter are now turning their attention to another match at San Siro, this time against Bologna.
The Serie A Week 4 match kicks off at 18:00 CEST on Saturday.
LEAGUE STANDING AND RESULTS
Inter and Sampdoria are both on seven points after three league games. The Nerazzurri kicked things off with wins over Genoa and Verona, but were held away at Sampdoria last weekend. Sinisa Mihajlovic’s team have made a strong start, beating Salernitana and Verona either side of a draw with Atalanta, with two clean sheets from three games along the way.
PREVIOUS MEETINGS: MATCH NO.149
Inter and Bologna will face off for the 149th time when the Rossoblu visit San Siro on Saturday. As things stand, Inter have won 72, drawn 35 and lost 41 against Bologna.
Inter won both their games against Bologna last season and haven’t drawn against the Rossoblu in the league since September 2017, when they were held to a 1-1 draw. Since then, it’s been five Inter wins and two Bologna victories.
Inter and Bologna have faced off at San Siro 74 times in all, with Inter winning 41 and losing 12. The Rossoblu have won four of their last nine trips to the Meazza in recent years.
STATS AND FACTS
Inter are on a run of 17 straight home wins in Serie A. Only three teams have put together a long run of home wins in the history of Serie A: Torino in 1948 (21), AC Milan in 1950 (19) and Juventus in 2014 (25) and 2017 (33).
Inter (7) and Bologna (8) have conceded fewer shots on target than any other team in Serie A this season. Of the nine goals Inter have scored so far this season, four of them have been headers – more than any other side this season.
EYES ON PERISIC AND D'AMBROSIO
Along with Sampdoria, Bologna are the side that Danilo D’Ambrosio has scored more goals against than any other side in Serie A, with three.
Ivan Perisic has contributed to three goals in his last three Serie A matches against Bologna, with one goal and two assists.
MBAYE, MEDEL AND ARNAUTOVIC: FORMER INTER MEN NOW PLAYING FOR BOLOGNA
Marko Arnautovic is yet to lose a Serie A game, having won five and drawn one in six appearances in total. The Austrian made three appearances from the bench for Inter in the 2009/10 season, and has started all three of Bologna’s game so far this season.
Ibrahima Mbaye made four Serie A appearances for Inter in the 2014/15 season before joining Bologna.
Gary Medel made 91 Serie A appearances for Inter between 2014 and 2017, scoring his only Serie A goal during his time with the Nerazzurri.
