MILAN - Matias Vecino marked his first start of the season with a goal to make it 4-0 in the second half of a match that the Nerazzurri dominated from start to finish. The Uruguayan felt the team fully deserved credit for the performance at San Siro.
The number 8 spoke to Inter TV after the game: “Scoring is always wonderful and important, but what always really matters is winning and putting in a good performance. We did that today, creating so many goalscoring chances along the way. Games like today’s give us confidence ahead of a run of so many tough fixtures one after the other.
“We came into the game off the back of a defeat, but we did a good job of dictating the play from the start. The early goal set us on our way.”
The midfielder looked ahead to a return to Florence on Tuesday: “Going back to Florence is always fantastic. It’s a city that holds a special place in my heart. They welcomed me when I moved over from Uruguay. It’ll always be a special match for me.
