Inter will take on Empoli in the last 16 of the Coppa Italia in January 2022. The round-of-16 ties are being set this week, with Aurelio Andreazzoli’s side running out 4-3 winners over Hellas Verona at the Bentegodi in a remarkable game on Wednesday afternoon that was filled with twists and turns.
The last-16 tie between Inter and Empoli will be decided on the night at San Siro, but the date is yet to be confirmed.
Inter are in the right-hand side of the draw and the winner of the tie between Roma and Spezia or Lecce will be possible quarter-final opponents if Simone Inzaghi’s side reaches that stage.
