Inter advance into the Coppa Italia quarter-finals thanks to the win against Empoli

Inter reach the quarter-finals of the Coppa Italia for the eighth consecutive season: a 3-2 win over Empoli after extra time secured the Nerazzurri's 47th appearance in the quarter-finals of the domestic competition. Last season Inter also made it through to the quarter-finals after extra time, beating Fiorentina 2-1: the Nerazzurri have made it through on four of the last six occasions they have played in extra time in the Coppa Italia.

20 DIFFERENT GOALSCORERS: MORE THAN ANY OTHER TEAM IN EUROPE

Stefano Sensi scored the winning goal in the 104th minute with a brilliant right-footed shot from the edge of the box, bringing the total number of goalscorers this season to 20. No other side in Europe's top five leagues, considering all of the competitions, has so many goalscorers in their team.

Of the 64 goals scored so far this season, excluding goalkeepers Samir Handanovic and Ionuț Radu, the only players not to have scored are Aleksandar Kolarov, Martin Satriano and Mattia Zanotti.

Lautaro (12), Dzeko (11), Calhanoglu (6), Sanchez (5), Correa (4), Perisic (4), Skriniar (4), Dumfries (3), Dimarco (2), Gagliardini (2), Vidal (2), Barella (1), Bastoni (1), D'Ambrosio (1), Darmian (1), Vecino (1), Brozovic (1), De Vrij (1), Ranocchia (1), Sensi (1).

SANCHEZ’S FIRST COPPA ITALIA GOAL IN 12 YEARS

Alexis Sanchez has returned to goalscoring ways in the Coppa Italia, 4,291 days after the first and only time: he scored against Roma for Udinese on 21 April 2010.

The Chilean has contributed five goals in his last seven appearances in an Inter shirt in all competitions (four goals, one assist), as many as in his last 25 games (three goals, two assists).

DUMFRIES' ASSISTS AND RANOCCHIA'S FEELINGS FOR THE COPPA ITALIA

Denzel Dumfries is the second Inter player to have provided at least one assist in three different competitions this season (Serie A, Champions League, Coppa Italia), after Matteo Darmian (Serie A, Champions League, Super Cup).

In his 222nd appearance for Inter, Andrea Ranocchia notched his 14th goal for the Nerazzurri,  his fourth in the Coppa Italia. The previous one was also in the domestic cup competition in another late show two years ago at home against Cagliari.
