ACADEMY: TWENTY-SEVEN DEBUTS SINCE 2000

MILAN - The latest is Ibrahim Maaroufi, who replaced Dejan Stankovic in the closing stages of Wednesday's 4-1 victory over Livorno. The first was Matteo Ferrari, 'brought back home' after stints at Genoa, Lecce and Bari. In all, 27 Inter academy products have progessed through the ranks to make their first-team debuts since the turn of the century. Seven of these players have worn an Inter first-team shirt for the first time in the last 12 months, under Roberto Mancini. To complete an analysis of this important youth development project carried forward during the administration of Massimo Moratti, other players should be added to the list below, like Tommaso Berni, Nicola Donazzan, Alberto Quadri, Goran Pandev, Federico Piovaccari and Giullerme Siqueira, who did not make their debuts for Inter in a competitive match, but completed their professional development with the Nerazzurri before making their debuts with other clubs.
