MILAN - Adriano was voted Sky Sport Italia's man of the match for his Milan derby performance. "I want to thank the coach for putting his faith in me in such an important match," said the Brazilian, who headed the Nerazzurri into the lead on 29 minutes.
"I was back after a long suspension and I'm pleased to have had this important chance. I think I did well, and I'm calm. I was very happy about the national team call-up, too. I feel that I'm improving bit by bit."
The Inter number ten went on to rule out any doubts about his opening goal. He added: "The rules say clearly that it's not considered a foul if it's not intentional, and I can assure you that I didn't look for the ball with my arm.
"I promised Mourinho I would score for his young boy and I'm very happy that I kept my promise. This is what I told him right after, that I had kept my promise."
