PESCARA - Mario Balotelli headed home a free kick to give Inter victory over AC Milan in the second of tonight's TIM Trophy matches at the Stadio Adriatico.
After the 7-6 penalties defeat to Juventus, Mourinho kept faith with Quaresma, who impressed in the opening match in Pescara. The Portuguese started on the left side of a three-man attack with Milito in the middle and Balotelli on the right.
The first chance went to Milan full-back Antonini, who tested Julio Cesar with a strong shot from distance in the 4th minute. Inter's reply came moments later when Balotelli's powerful free kick skimmed the crossbar.
Ronaldinho had a free kick easily saved before he curled in a cross for Pato, whose looping header was blocked by Julio Cesar.
With the match in full flow, the second Milan derby of the pre-season after our 2-0 World Football Championship victory in Boston was interrupted by a floodlight failure, giving the Nerazzurri a few minutes of deserved rest after their exertions against Juventus.
Play resumed after an eight-minute interval and seven minutes later Balotelli rose unmarked in the area to power home his header from Stankovic's inswinging free kick.
Leonardo's Rossoneri offered little in the way of a reaction, their only meaningful chance falling to Ronaldinho who curled his free kick over the bar.
