GENOA - Inter through to the quarter finals with top marks, with a total success even in the return leg game of the last sixteen round of the Primavera TIM Cup. Against Genoa, the Nerazzurri play a perfect game, for determination, concentration and tempo. Fulvio Pea's team could limit itself to administrating the lead obtained in the first leg, instead they take the reins of the situation, squashing the opposition in their own half and conceding little more than a shot on target. With Felice Natalino and Denis Alibes involved with the first team, Fulvio Pea rediscovers Cristiano Biraghi, who made his Champions League debut yesterday against Twente. The goal today came from Simone Pasa who coming up from Giorgio Gatti's Allievi Nazionali (Under 17s) made his complete debut in this category. In the second minute of injury time it was his left footed shot that beat Perin. Inter, in the quarter finals of this national tournament will face Atalanta between the 8th and the 15th if December 2010.
FIRST HALF - Straight away a double save by Perin saves the result in the second minute of play: first from a half over-head kick by Longo, who protected the ball splendidly from Carozzino and made space for the shot, and then again from Dell'Agnello who tried to deflect the keeper's block into the net. A great Inter, but only a corner. And again: Carsen, from the move that started with the corner kick, strikes the post with a grand right footed effort. Inter besieges the opposition's penalty box with much intensity in the game's opening minutes. In the 15th minute Biraghi has a go, with a header from Lussardi's free kick. Challenged by De Bode the Nerazzurri full-back is unable to find the net. Ball over the bar. The first chance for Genoa come in the 21st minute with Sturaro who tries from outside the box, Di Gennaro watches the ball go wide. Around the half hour mark another Nerazzurri chance. Samuele Longo recovers the ball in the opposition half, loses his opponent with some trickery, withstands a challenge on the edge of the box and shoots with his right foot, but the effort ends just off target. After two minutes injury time the first half ends 0-0.
SECOND HALF - The game resumes and the pattern seems to be the same from the first half. Pea's defence, perfect, gives enough assurance for the build up of the offensive manoeuvre, where the Nerazzurri are always dangerous around Perin. Dell'Agnello is through in the 58th minute inspired by a pinpoint cross by Jirasek, but the linesman calls Simone offside and Pairetto disallows the goal. Biraghi's header in the 61st deflects a dangerous shot by Zigoni, the only so far, then Carlini tries from outside the box, but the ball is over the bar and always under the control of Di Gennaro. Jirasek in the 66th minute tries from the short edge of the box with a powerful left footed shot, Perin almost caught out, saves himself by punching it. In the 73rd minute, first Faraoni the Jarisek both try from within the box, but on both occasions the opposition defence gets in the way. Longo was then forced to leave the field due to cramps, Fulvio Pea sent on Daniel Bessa, whom in less that a minute, releases Lorenzo Crisetig into a counter attack, he then serves Dell'Agnello who goes for goal, but again it is blocked. And then it is Simone Pasa, born in 1994, sent on in the 90th minute to replace Milan Jirasek, who breaks the deadlock, in the second minute of injury time, from the edge of the box at his debut with the Primavera. Perin is powerless against the right footed effort of the Inter player which seals the partial 0-1 (3-0 on aggregate) which guarantees the next stage of the tournament. The game then ends, two minutes later and therefore after 4' injury time.
