PRIMAVERA: INTER BEATEN ON PENALTIES

Extremely tight derby in Campionato Primavera second round play-off, Nerazzurri denied by post in extra time

MILAN - Inter's hopes of reaching the national finals in Montecatini were dashed in the second round play-off of the Campionato Primavera regular season, which saw AC Milan finally come out on top after penalties. The match, which was being played at the Rossoneri's home ground because of their higher final league position, started well for Inter, who went in front through Dell'Agnello in the 24th minute. However, Berretta and Pasini turned it around for the home side and the Nerazzurri looked out of it as the 90 minutes drew to a close, until Benedetti grabbed a late equaliser to send the tie to extra time. Dell'Agnello almost won it for Inter in the 113th minute but was denied by the post, so the match went to a penalty shoot-out: 6-5 to AC Milan.
