POLI: "I MODEL MYSELF ON CAPTAIN ZANETTI"

"A great professional. Pazzini is a friend. I'll be honoured to train under Gasperini"

MILAN – "This is a great dream coming true for me," is what Andrea Poli said of his transfer to Inter, as he came out of the Nerazzurri headquarters. He was immediately surrounded by fans and journalists but Andrea didn't try to avoid them, actually he thanked them: "Firstly I'd like to thank all of the fans who have come here today to welcome me, I promise them I'll do my best here. I can't wait to meet up with my new team-mates and to start working with them and with my new coach. He's a terrific coach and he created quite a few problems for us when he was in Genova... [smiling, Ed]. I'm really pleased he'll be training me and I can't wait to meet him for the first session."

Poli was asked about the details of his contract but he limited himself to commenting that "it was all a bit unexpected, but I'm over the moon about it, it's a terrific opportunity for me. I'll be taking up the challenge with determination and will be giving it everything I can. I have come to a really great club and it's an honour for me: I'll do all in my power to deserve this Inter shirt."

And among the Inter players is one who is a model for him, captain Javier Zanetti: "He's a model player for everyone. Zanetti is a great professional and a magnificent player."

Poli will also be teaming up again with former team-mate Giampaolo Pazzini: "We're good friends," he said. "We have already spoken and he's on his way to Milan to meet me."
