MILAN - Diego Forlan is in town. He landed in Linate, Milan on a (delayed) flight from Madrid a short time ago. Tomorrow the final stages of the deal with Atletico Madrid and with the player himself will be settled then, after the red tape has been sorted out, the official announcement will be made. He was welcomed by a group of fifty or so fans singing "siamo venuti sin qua per vedere segnare Forlan" (We've come all the way here to see Forlan score). The captain of Uruguay gave a brief interview to waiting journalists.
"I'd like to thank president Moratti and Inter for this great opportunity," he said. "I'm very happy to be here and to play for a fantastic team like Inter. I've already spoken to Zanetti and Cambiasso, but all I want to say is that I'm happy to be here and that this is a great opportunity for my career. Eto'o? Samuel is a wonderful guy and a superb footballer. I'm here to continue winning with Inter. My aim is to play and score as much as possible for my new team."
