The new signing presented himself to Inter TV and Facebook: "To be here is a dream come true, I want to help the club return to the Champions League"

APPIANO GENTILE Lisandro Lopez has been spending his first few days as Nerazzurri player and today he presented himself to the fans live and exclusively on Inter TV and the club’s Facebook page. “I was very happy with the call from Inter, it all happened very quickly and it’s a dream come true for me. To be at Inter means a lot to me. This is a club that kids dream of playing for. I thank God for this opportunity. I want to help the team reach our objective, we want to qualify for the next Champions League.”

He then spoke about his first impressions at Inter: “I’m very satisfied with how the first days have gone, all of my teammates are very humble guys. I’ve found a great group. I can bring my experience to Inter, I’m here to help bring something more. There are excellent players in my position such as Miranda and Skriniar who welcomed me very well and I thank them for that. I’m ready to play straight away, it will be up to the Coach to decide. Spalletti? He’s made a good impression, he’s a good and serious Coach who works a lot on tactics.”

Lisandro then described himself as a player. “I can play in a back three or a back four and I can adapt to play at full-back if needed. I consider myself to be a quick player, I like to have the ball at my feet. I’m strong in the air and have a good goalscoring instinct. From a young age, I had two big idols. One was Walter Samuel who was a real pillar in defence with grit and a sacrificial spirit while the other was Martin Demichelis. I chose the number two shirt because I’ve had it for a while, it’s always brought me luck. Important players have worn it here at Inter such as Bergomi and Cordoba. I hope to do well like they did.”

During his career, Lopez has faced top class opponents.  “I’ve marked players such as Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and Neymar but I believe that Messi was the best of all. I’ve seen Mauro Icardi here, in just a few training sessions I’ve seen what he’s worth and he’s also welcomed me and he’s helping me settle as well as possible.”

At Benfica, Lisandro had a special relationship with one of the greatest players from Inter’s recent past. “Julio Cesar is a great friend of mine, on and off the pitch. He helped me a lot in Portugal by giving advice. He’s phenomenal, one of the best players that I’ve ever known. The Inter side of 2010? I remember it well, it was a very strong team with a great group of players who reached incredible heights.”

Finally, there was a look at Lisandro Lopez’s personal life. “My nickname is Lichi which is very common where I’m from. In Argentina, I still follow the two sides that I played for: Arsenal de Sarandi and Chacarita Juniors. How do I find Milan? I’d already been for a few days in the past, now I want to get to know it better. I’m still looking for a house in the city.”
