Sebastiano Esposito was born in July 2002 in Castellammare di Stabia. At the age of nine, he was spotted by Brescia scouts and he played for their youth teams from 2011 to 2014 before joining Inter.
Esposito’s precocious talent shone through in the Nerazzurri’s youth teams. In the 2018-19 season, he was part of the Under-17 side that won the Italian title as he scored a brace in the semi-final before netting a hat-trick in the final. Furthermore, he scored two goals in the Supercoppa Italiana win. He then started playing for the Primavera side which lost in the Scudetto final to Atalanta. In March 2019, he made his First Team Inter debut in the Europa League against Eintracht Frankfurt, becoming the Nerazzurri’s youngest debutant in the UEFA Cup/Europa League or Champions League at the age of 16 years and 255 days.
In the 2019-20 season, he became a regular member of the First Team squad. On 23 October 2019, he made his debut in the Champions League against Borussia Dortmund, winning a penalty and at the age of 17 years and 113 days, he became the youngest Inter debutant in the modern Champions League format (behind only Beppe Beregomi who played at 17 years and 72 days in the European Cup in 1981). On 26 October 2019, Esposito made his debut in Serie A.
Esposito has played for the Italy Under-17 side and made a European Championship final with the Azzurri. Despite the loss to the Netherlands in the final, he had an excellent tournament as he scored four goals in six matches. The forward is currently part of the Italy Under-19 side.
