Century of appearances for Cristiano Zanetti

If fielded against Brescia, Cristiano Zanetti will celebrate his 100th Serie A appearance. 'The Hammer', who played for Fiorentina, Cagliari and Roma before joining the Nerazzurri, made his top flight debut in Fiorentina's 2-1 defeat away to Foggia on 14 May 1995.

Inter favoured in regional derbies away from home

From 1994/95 to today (the '3 points for a Serie A victory' era), Inter have lost just two regional derbies played away from home: Brescia 1-0 Inter on 29 April 2001 and AC Milan 1-0 Inter this season. The Nerazzurri boast 12 wins and 7 draws in the other 19 Lombardy derbies since 3 points were awarded for a win (against Atalanta, Brescia, Como, Cremonese and AC Milan ).

Mazzone to celebrate milestone

Carlo Mazzone celebrates his 700th match as a coach on Saturday. The 66-year-old made his coaching debut in Napoli 3-1 Ascoli on 6 October 1974 and has notched 205 victories, 259 draws and 235 defeats (excluding play-offs). During the course of the current campaign, Mazzone has overtaken Giovanni Trapattoni to lie second behind Nereo Rocco in the list of all time coaches.

Baggio up against favourite target

With 191 goals in official matches, Roberto Baggio is the top Serie A scorer still playing. Il Divin Codino's favourite target is Inter, with 16 goals scored against the Nerazzurri. The last came in Brescia 1-0 Inter on 29 April 2001.

Vieri looking to break more records

Christian Vieri scored all four goals in Inter's 4-0 win at home to Brescia on 1 December 2002. With his strike against Roma in the 2002/03 Serie A Week 27 clash, Vieri has taken his total for the domestic season so far to 24 goals in 22 matches, thus equalling his record set with Atletico Madrid in 1997/98. Bobogol is now well within reach of Bierhoff's record of 27 strikes in one Serie A season since three points were awarded for a win (from 1994/95 on). The German centre-forward set the record while at Udinese in the 1997/98 campaign. The last Inter player to win the Serie A top scorer title was Aldo Serena with 22 goals in 1988/89. A rather more ambitious target for Bobogol is Angelillo's record of 33 goals for Inter in one Serie A season (1958/59).

Derby defeat wake-up call for Nerazzurri

With 7 Serie A defeats this season, 6 matches to play and 6 points behind Juventus, Inter certainly have their work cut out if they want to win the title. Only one side has lost 7 matches out of 34 and gone on to win the championship since 3 points were awarded for a win - Juventus in 1994/95.

Record 16-match winning streak for Brescia

Brescia have recorded 6 victories and 10 draws in their last 16 matches, the Swallows' best ever positive run in the Serie A. Undefeated since 1 December 2002, when they lost 4-0 to Inter at the San Siro, Brescia are currently the Serie A side that have gone the longest without a negative result.
