Roberto Mancini faces Reggina for the sixth time as a coach. The current Inter boss has won 1, drawn 2 and lost 2 of his previous five games against the Calabrians, and has never won at home (1 draw and 1 defeat).

Details:

2002/03 Serie A Lazio-Reggina 0-1 3-0
2003/04 Serie A Lazio-Reggina 1-1 1-2
2004/05 Serie A Inter-Reggina ---- 0-0

The scoreless draw at the Granillo in January is the only previous meeting between the current Inter and Reggina coaches.

Details:

2004/05 Serie A Inter-Reggina ---- 0-0

Inter on course for best attack title

With 65 goals scored (two more than Juventus and Lecce), Inter are set to win the platonic award of best attack in the 2004/05 Serie A. The Nerazzurri won the same title together with Juventus in 2002/03, with 64 goals, and in the record-breaking 1988/89 Scudetto season, with 67 goals scored.

Two historic records equalled

The draw with Lazio in Week 28 was Inter's 17th of the 2004/05 Serie A campaign. The 1-1 stalemate at the Olimpico saw the Nerazzurri equal the club's record of draws in one season (set in 1991/92), and also equalled Bologna's record of draws in one 20/21-team Serie A season (set in 1948/49).

Inter on target in 10 consecutive games

Since the 1-0 defeat to AC Milan on 27 February, the Nerazzurri have scored in each of their last 11 matches (total 18 goals), and have equalled that run of 11 games between Weeks 8 and 18 when they notched 24 goals. And the Inter defence hasn't let in a goal in the league for 360 minutes (since Rafael's goal in the 90th minute of Messina 2-1 Inter on 24 April).

Nerazzurri close to record

Inter have lost just two league matches in 2004/05 (at home to AC Milan and away to Messina). If the Nerazzurri win or draw against Reggina on the final day of the season, Roberto Mancini will go down in the club's history as one of three coaches to suffer the fewest number of defeats in the one-division Serie A championship. The other two are Helenio Herrera (1964/65) and Giovanni Trapattoni (1988/89). Inter won the Scudetto on both occasions.

Bonazzoli nears Cozza record

With his goal against Lecce last Sunday, Emiliano Bonazzoli takes his tally for the Serie A season to 17, and is just two goals away from Francesco Cozza's record of 19 goals for Reggina in one Serie A campaign.

Mazzarri's golden May

According to the stats, sides coached by Walter Mazzarri perform their best in the fifth calendar month: 6 wins, 4 draws and 1 defeat from 11 matches, and a points per match average of 2.

Reggina's yellow fever

With 98 bookings in 37 matches, Reggina are the most undisciplined team in the 2004/05 Serie A championship.

MILAN - Inter and Reggina played out a 0-0 draw in the sweltering heat at the Giuseppe Meazza Stadium on Sunday afternoon. The result sees Roberto Mancini's side finish the Serie A season with just two defeats and equal records set by Helenio Herrera and Giovanni Trapattoni for the fewest losses in one campaign.

Reggina could have taken the lead on the half-hour mark when Mesto headed over from near range after Franceschini nodded a far-post cross back into the middle, while Inter's best chance of the opening forty-five fell to Christian Vieri, who headed a Ze Maria cross onto the bar after a Dino Marino interception in midfield.

Youngsters Marco Andreolli and Tijani Belaid came on for their Serie A debuts during a second half in which the Nerazzurri continued to create scoring chances. Vieri netted from close range on 59 minutes but had his effort ruled out for handball, and Obafemi Martins had two diagonal shots blocked by Reggina keeper Soviero.

The domestic championship might be over, but Inter still have two competitive fixtures still to play, with Roma at the Olimpico in the Coppa Italia final first leg on 12 June, then the return leg at the Meazza on 15 June.
