Inter close to tenth Coppa final

The Nerazzurri are ninety minutes away from their tenth Coppa Italia final, having reached the showpiece tie in 1938/39, 1958/59, 1964/65, 1976/77, 1977/78, 1981/82, 1999/00, 2004/05 and 2005/06. Inter, who finished last in a four-team final tournament with AC Milan, Bologna and eventual winners Torino in 1967/68, have won the cup five times, in 1938/39, 1977/78, 1981/82, 2004/05 and 2005/06.

No Samp away draw since September 2006

Walter Novellino's side haven't drawn an away match since Ascoli 1-1 Sampdoria on 24 September 2006. Since that date, the Blucerchiati have collected 4 wins and 6 defeats on their league and cup travels.

Samp goalless since 17 January 2007

Gennaro Delvecchio's 86th-minute goal in the 2-1 win at Chievo on 17 January 2007 was Sampdoria's last in a competitive fixture. Including the remaining 4 minutes of that match plus the entire games against Empoli (0-2, Serie A) and Inter (0-3, Coppa Italia; 0-2, Serie A), Novellino's team have gone 274 minutes without scoring.

Inter: 26 games without defeat

Inter are unbeaten in 26 competitive matches, with 23 victories (including 11 wins in a row - 7 wins in Serie A, 2 in Coppa Italia & 2 in Champions League from 25 October 2006 to 2 December 2006 - a club record under the administration of Moratti) and 3 draws since their last defeat, a 2-0 home loss to Bayern Munich in the Champions League on 27 September 2006.

Inter: 22-game scoring run

Roberto Mancini's team have hit the target in each of their last 22 games, scoring a total of 49 goals. Inter's last match without scoring was the goalless Serie A draw at Udinese on 22 October 2006.

Inter: no home draw since September 2006

Inter's last home draw was the 1-1 Serie A stalemate with Sampdoria on 16 September 2006. Since then the Nerazzurri have collected 13 victories and a defeat from 14 Meazza matches.

No Inter defeat in Coppa Italia since 2002

Inter 1-2 Bari on 19 December 2002 was the Nerazzurri's last defeat in Italy's cup competition. Since that date Inter have collected 18 wins and 9 draws from 27 games to better the club's previous record of 20 cup matches without defeat, set between May 1986 and April 1988.

Mancini unbeaten in cup since 2002

With 16 wins and 5 draws, Roberto Mancini is unbeaten in the Coppa Italia since taking over at Inter. If we add Mancini's 8 cup games with Lazio in 2003/04, the current Inter boss hasn't lost in the competition for 29 matches (22 wins and 7 draws). His last Coppa defeat came on 16 April 2003 when the Biancocelesti lost 1-0 to city rivals Roma.

No cup goal against Inter for 460 minutes

Nonda's 80th-minute strike in Inter 3-1 Roma on 11 May 2006 was the last Coppa Italia goal conceded by the Nerazzurri. Including the remaining 10 minutes of last season's final return leg, plus the entire games against Messina (home and away), Empoli (home and away) and Sampdoria (away) this term, Inter have not let in a Coppa goal for 460 competitive minutes.

Inter's 265-minute invincibility

Luca Toni's 5th-minute goal in Inter 3-1 Fiorentina on 21 January was the last conceded by Mancini's side. Including the remaining 85 minutes of that game plus the league and cup visits to Sampdoria (0-3, 0-2), Inter haven't let in a goal for 265 competitive minutes.

Inter one away from 200th goal against Samp

In 111 competitive meetings with Sampdoria, Inter have scored 199 goals (104 at home, 95 away). Zapirain (34') and Campatelli (78') were the first Nerazzurri players to score against the Blucerchiati, in a 2-1 Serie A home win on 2 February 1947. Samp's reply came from Bassetto (88').

Flachi in sight of Mancini's Coppa total for Samp

With 4 goals in this season's domestic cup competition, Francesco Flachi has brought his total of Coppa Italia goals for Sampdoria to 21. The Florentine striker is now just 5 away from reaching Mancini's total of 26 cup goals for the Blucerchiati, and 15 short of Gianluca Vialli's club record of 36.

MILAN - Inter held Sampdoria 0-0 at the Meazza to complete a 3-0 aggregate victory and set up a third consecutive Coppa Italia final meeting with Roma.

The cup holders defended their lead from the first leg as the visitors enjoyed periods of possession but failed to capitalise.

Inter went closer to scoring than their opponents in the opening half, Mariano Gonzalez firing just wide from 20 yards before Julio Cruz forced a save from Castellazzi.

Samp's best chances before the break fell to Maggio, who sent a flicked header wide before having another blocked by Toldo.

Coppa top scorer Burdisso then rose to nod wide a Grosso cross.

There was no change to the pattern of the game after the restart. Sala failed to tap home at the far post after Bazzani's header from a Parola cross, but once again it was Inter who produced the best chances.

Cruz chested down a delightful ball into the area by Recoba before crashing wide a left-foot shot.

The Uruguayan then played a one-two with Grosso only to see his lob blocked by the Samp keeper.

Cruz had a second chance from another Chino through ball saved by Castellazzi before Samp sub Quagliarella was brilliantly denied by Toldo in time added on.
