1' It's as simple as this: match Roma's result at Chievo and we are Italian champions for the fifth season running. If we draw and Roma win, we'll end the campaign level on points with the Giallorossi but they will win the Scudetto thanks to a better head-to-head record. But we don't even want to start thinking about that possibility. Welcome to the Stadio Artemio Franchi - Montepaschi Arena in Siena for our last match of the domestic season.

Mourinho v Siena

José Mourinho has won all three of his previous encounters with Siena.

2008/09 Serie A Inter-Siena 3-0 2-1
2009/10 Serie A Inter-Siena 4-3 ----

Worst Serie A season ever for Siena

With 20 defeats in 37 games, Siena have surpassed their previous worst performance in one Serie A season: 18 defeats in 2008/09. The Tuscan Bianconeri have won only 7 of their 37 games, one fewer than their previous negative record of 8 victories in their debut top-flight campaign in 2003/04. And with 66 goals conceded in 37 matches, Siena have overtaken the previous worst tally of 60 goals let in during the 2005/06 season.

Maccarone looking to better personal record

With his goal against Catania on 18 April, Massimo Maccarone has brought his tally for the Serie A season to 12 goals. The striker is one more goal away from matching his previous best of 13 goals in one league campaign for the Bianconeri, in 2007/08.

Best attack versus worst defence

Inter have the best attack in the 2009/10 Serie A championship after 37 games with 74 goals scored. Siena, meanwhile, have the worst defence with 66 goals conceded.

Inter, a Scudetto for the history books

If they win the 2009/10 Scudetto, Inter will match Juventus' record of five consecutive Serie A titles from 1930/31 to 1934/35.

Inter, Siena and the Scudetto

Siena evokes good memories for Inter. On 22 April 2007 the Nerazzurri won 2-1 away to the Tuscan Bianconeri to win the Serie A title with six games left to play. Little over two years later on 17 May 2009 Inter celebrated another Scudetto triumph with a 3-0 victory over Siena, having won the title without kicking the ball as AC Milan lost 2-1 at Udinese in the early game.

Only one Inter defeat in last 12 games

Inter have won 10 matches and drawn one since their last defeat, a 1-0 reverse at Barcelona in the Champions League on 28 April 2010.

Nerazzurri goalless in one of last 15 away games in Serie A

Inter have failed to score in just one of their last 15 away matches in Italy's top flight (0-0 at Napoli on 14 February 2010), scoring 26 goals in the other 14 games.

JC one of six most present players in 2009/10

Julio Cesar is one of six players who go into the final round of the 2009/10 Serie A season having played all 37 matches and all 3330 minutes. The others are Agostini (Cagliari), Bonucci (Bari), De Sanctis (Napoli), Handanovic (Udinese) and Sorrentino (ChievoVerona). Hamsik (Napoli) and Matri (Cagliari) have also played 37 games, but have played for fewer minutes.

Happy Birthday Mr President

Sunday 16 May 2010 marks the 65th birthday of Inter president Massimo Moratti.

wins(6) draws(2) defeats(1)

SIENA - And there's number two! Inter beat Siena 1-0 to add the Scudetto to the Coppa Italia on Massimo Moratti's 65th birthday.

Roma won away to Chievo but all Inter needed to do was match their result for a fifth consecutive Serie A title and eighteenth overall.

We're now a Champions League final away from completing a historic treble.

It was relatively plain sailing from start to finish in Siena but Inter survived a scare in the sixth minute when Ekdal fired wide with just Julio Cesar to beat after receiving from Codrea and turning Maicon in the box.

The Nerazzurri soon stepped into their stride and produced two clear chances inside a minute with Balotelli sending inches wide his first-time shot from Maicon's cross, before Milito narrowly missed the target after being put through by Balotelli.

Siena goalkeeper Curci saved close-range headers from Milito and Thiago Motta, and got down at his near post to block Eto'o's effort from the tightest of angles as Inter kept up the pressure.

The hosts raised their game when news filtered through that Roma had taken the lead against Chievo and Maccarone severely tested Julio Cesar with a ferocious left-footed drive from 25 yards.

Balotelli was unlucky not to give Inter the lead seven minutes before the break when he saw his stunning shot on the turn from Maicon's cross come back off the crossbar.

The Bianconeri produced a third clear chance ahead of the interval and Inter had Samuel to thank for blocking Jajolo's low shot.

Mourinho's men continued to outplay their opponents after the restart Zanetti surged past two players and laid off to Milito, whose brilliant 20-yard strike was tipped over by Curci.

Cambiasso was presented with a decent chance minutes later, his low drive from Eto'o's pass going just wide of the Curci and his left-hand post.

It was only a matter of time before the goal, and it came in the 57th minute when Zanetti powered his way past two Siena players and passed low to Milito who used the outside of his right foot to prod beyond Curci for his 22nd goal of the Serie A season.

Inter produced several clear chances to increase their lead. Substitute Stankovic shaved the bar with a trademark long-range effort, and Milito was denied by Curci with the flag going up for offside after Pandev's rebound went in off the Siena keeper.

First the Coppa Italia, and now the Scudetto. Vamos a Madrid!
