Empoli have lost each of their last seven Serie A meetings against Inter: only once in the competition, have they lost more matches in a row against a single opponent, eight against Juventus between 2014 and 2019.
Empoli have won only three of their 26 Serie A matches against Inter (the last one in April 2006, 1-0 under Luigi Cagni); against no other side (faced more than 10 times) have they collected fewer wins in the competition.
Inter have kept a clean sheet in each of their last six Serie A away matches against Empoli, their longest such run against a single opponent in the competition – only Fiorentina against Catania in 2009, Juventus against Foggia in 1991, Napoli against Roma in 1980 and Torino against Verona in 1979 have had a longer such run (all seven).
