1' Benvenuti to the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza for Inter v Siena, which is also top against bottom, and Serie A's best attack versus worst defence. We haven't lost at home since that Champions League defeat to Panathinaikos in November 2008, so unless the Bianconeri from Tuscany pull off the mother of all upsets, we should re-extend our lead at the top to 11 points ahead of tomorrow night's clash in Turin between Juventus and AC Milan.
1' Maccarone attacks down the middle and plays to Calaiò in the box. Lucio intercepts.
1' Siena kick off in the pouring rain. FORZA INTER!
1' Inter: Julio Cesar; 13 Maicon, 6 Lucio, 2 Cordoba, 4 Zanetti; 5 Stankovic, 8 Thiago Motta; 7 Quaresma, 10 Sneijder, 27 Pandev; 22 Milito.

Subs: 1 Toldo, 25 Samuel, 28 Stevanovic, 29 Donati, 31 Alibec, 48 Crisetig, 89 Arnautovic.

Siena: 85 Curci; 87 Rosi, 29 Cribari, 15 Brandao, 3 Del Grosso; 8 Vergassola, 10 Codrea, 12 Ekdal; 7 Reginaldo, 32 Maccarone, 24 Jajalo.

Subs: 31 Pegolo, 6 Terzi, 9 Paolucci, 11 Calaiò, 17 Fini, 21 Rossi, 23 Jarolim.
1' Dejan Stankovic and Thiago Motta return from suspension and will do the job done by Zanetti and Vieira against Chievo as the two midfielders will slot into holding roles in a 4-2-3-1 formation. Zanetti comes in for Chivu at left-back, with Quaresma replacing the disqualified Balotelli in attack. The Portuguese winger will play alongside Sneijder and Pandev (who makes his first appearance in front of the home fans tonight), in support of lone striker Milito.
1' A big thank you to all those who sent messages to www.inter.it for our latest signing Goran Pandev and injured defender Cristian Chivu. The response was overwhelming. Goran and Cristian pass on their heartfelt thanks for your warm support.
1' We're not expecting an easy game tonight though. As José Mourinho said in yesterday's press conference, Siena's midweek wallopping at the hands of their Chiantishire rivals Fiorentina does not reflect the true reality of Malesani's team. And we have a few problems of our own. With a host of key players ruled out of Week 19, Mourinho has drafted in Primavera youngsters Donati, Crisetig, Stevanovic and Alibec.

Impregnable Inter

Inter haven't let in a goal since since Tiribocchi's 81st-minute effort in the 1-1 draw at Atalanta on 13 December 2009. Mourinho's team have since played three competitive matches, winning 1-0 at home to Livorno and Lazio, and 1-0 away to Chievo. The Nerazzurri haven't conceded at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza since Mirko Vucinic's 13th-minute goal in the 1-1 Serie A draw with Roma on 8 November 2009. Inter have since played four home matches, keeping clean sheets against Fiorentina (1-0, Serie A), Rubin Kazan (2-0, Champions League), Livorno (1-0, Coppa Italia) and Lazio (1-0, Serie A).

Nerazzurri unbeaten at home since November 2008

Inter last lost at home on 26 November 2008 when they were beaten 1-0 by Panathinaikos in the Champions League. They have since played 30 European and domestic fixtures at home, winning 21 and drawing 9.

Top against bottom; best attack versus worst defence

Inter v Siena is a match between top and bottom, but also between the best attack and worst defence in Serie A. League leaders Inter (42 points) have scored 37 goals, while cellar dwellers Siena (12 points) have conceded 33.

Siena: no clean sheet since October

Siena have conceded in each of their last 11 league fixtures, letting in a total of 22 goals. The Tuscan Bianconeri's last clean sheet was on 4 October 2009, when they were held to a 0-0 home draw by regional rivals Livorno.

Bianconeri without result on road since 30 August

Siena's last win away from home was a 3-1 victory at Cagliari on 30 August 2009. They have since played seven matches on the road, losing to Sampdoria (1-4), Napoli (1-2), Parma (0-1), Bologna (1-2), Genoa (2-4), Bari (1-2) and Palermo (0-1).

Worst ever start to Serie A campaign for Tuscans

Whatever the result against Inter in Week 19 - the halfway point in the Serie A season, Siena have made their worst ever start to a top-flight campaign. Their previous worst was 17 points in 2004/05 and 2007/08. The encouraging news for the Tuscans is that the bottom-placed teams at the halfway stage in the last two seasons went on to avoid the drop to Serie B: Cagliari in 2007/08 and Chievo in 2008/09.

MILAN - The goals flew in on a rainy evening in Milan as Serie A leaders Inter came from behind to beat cellar dwellers Siena 4-3 and extend their advantage at the top to eleven points.

Massimo Maccarone thought he had opened and closed the scoring to lift the Tuscans off the bottom rung of the table, but Wesley Sneijder grabbed a late equaliser from a free kick before Walter Samuel celebrated his return from injury with a dramatic winner in time added on.

Dejan Stankovic and Thiago Motta returned from suspension and filled holding midfield roles as José Mourinho kept faith with the 4-2-3-1 formation that beat Chievo in midweek, with Quaresma replacing the disqualified Balotelli and Zanetti switching to left-back in place of Chivu.

Keen to impress on his home debut, Goran Pandev rattled Siena's cage in the ninth minute, forcing two good saves from Curci after some great close ball control.

Siena soaked up the early pressure and took a shock lead on eighteen minutes, Maccarone beating Julio Cesar with a long-range shot that travelled at a whopping 108km/hour on its way into the top right corner.

The Nerazzurri's reply came six minutes later. Sneijder picked out Milito on the left edge of the area and the Argentine turned Cribari before sending a crisp low shot beyond Curci and in at the far post.

Free kick maestro Sneijder treated the home fans to a repeat of his goal against Livorno in the Tim Cup last month, giving Inter a 36th-minute lead with a trademark curling shot.

But Malesani's men hadn't come to the Meazza to defend and they equalised within a minute through Ekdal. Unmarked in the area, the Swedish youngster latched on to Reginaldo's low cross from the right and rifled past Julio Cesar.

Walter Samuel replaced Quaresma at the break, but Inter suffered a further injury setback when Stankovic pulled up with a calf problem when emerging from the tunnel, and on came Marko Arnautovic for his home debut.

Siena boss Alberto Malesani replaced the injured Curci with Pegolo and the Bianconeri's substitute goalkeeper was kept busy with saves in quick succession from Sneijder and Arnautovic.

The Bianconeri edged back in front in the 65th minute when Reginaldo tore down the right and sidestepped Samuel before playing to Maccarone, who sidefooted past Julio Cesar.

Mourinho's response was to bring off Thiago Motta and hand Inter Primavera attacking midfielder Alen Stevanovic his competitive debut. The Swiss youngster made an immediate impact with a precise through ball for Pandev but the Macedonian, who appeared to be pushed off the ball, was denied by Pegolo.

The Inter coached looked to be heading for his first home defeat in domestic league and cup matches since 23 February 2002, but Sneijder gave the Nerazzurri a lifeline two minutes from time with an unstoppable thunderbolt free kick that flew in off the post.

In time added on Samuel popped up in the area to finish off a well-worked move, receiving short from Pandev and firing past Pegolo to stun Siena.
